Asheville pedestrian killed in possible hit-and-run on Patton Ave; APD investigating

ASHEVILLE – City police are investigating a possible hit-and-run along Patton Avenue that killed a pedestrian, officials said.

Asheville Police Department officers responded after two pedestrians were struck by a car while walking near Patton Avenue and North Louisiana Avenue. One pedestrian died at the scene and the other suffered serious injuries, APD spokesperson Rick Rice said just before 8 a.m. April 9.

“The collision is being investigated as a hit and run, and as of right now, the suspect vehicle has not been located,” Rice said.

Limited detail on the incident is currently available as police prepare to release more information “as soon as possible,” Rice said. APD’s investigation is ongoing.
