UoH Startup’s AI Platform on Microsoft’s Coffee Table Book
Hyderabad: AMRx, an AI/ML-based diagnostic solution developed by Hyderabad-based SCIINV Biosciences, has been featured in Microsoft’s prestigious coffee table book From Promise to Proof.
The book highlights 200 pioneering organisations worldwide that are leveraging artificial intelligence to drive transformative business innovations. SCIINV Biosciences, an ASPIRE BioNEST-incubated start-up from the University of Hyderabad (UoH), focuses on affordable digital diagnostics to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
AMRx, developed in collaboration with San Jose-based Innominds, is a patented diagnostic solution that predicts urinary tract infections (UTIs) and identifies AMR patterns using AI/ML algorithms and patient clinical data.
This culture-free digital platform addresses laboratory capacity challenges and offers faster and more precise insights into managing infectious diseases.
Dr Ranga Reddy Burri, scientific advisor for SCIINV Biosciences, said AMRx improved speed and accuracy in diagnosing and managing AMR. The platform was clinically validated at the AMR lab of Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning in Puttaparthi.
Prof. Pallu Reddanna from UoH’s School of Life Sciences described AMRx as a breakthrough in AMR management. He highlighted that it is a combination of patented technology and advanced AI that delivers real-time, accurate diagnostics critical for effective treatment and infection prevention.
The company said it has collaborated with academic institutions and NGOs to scale diagnostic capacities for India and the global healthcare landscape. Its mission is to integrate digital diagnostics into national healthcare systems, ensuring predictive solutions become a cornerstone of infection management.
